Nestled among towering evergreens and bordered by a natural creek, Luna is a contemporary residence shaped by its natural setting. The design responds to the character of the site, balancing bold geometric forms with an openness that invites the outdoors into everyday living. Positioned to capture views beyond the forest, the home feels both sheltered and expansive, offering a sense of privacy and tranquility while embracing its surroundings.

The architectural composition is defined by strong horizontal rooflines, deep overhangs, and intersecting volumes that create depth and dimension. Dark cladding contrasts with textured natural stone, while expansive glazing brings lightness to the home's substantial forms. Together, these elements create a layered expression that balances solidity and transparency, allowing the home to feel both striking and at ease within its setting.

At the heart of the home, a secluded courtyard frames a Japanese maple, creating a quiet moment of connection to nature. Enclosed by the surrounding volumes, the courtyard draws daylight into the interior while establishing sightlines across the residence. The delicate form of the maple contrasts with the clean architectural lines, introducing movement, colour, and a changing presence throughout the seasons.

Luna's defining quality lies in the way its architecture engages with the landscape, creating a peaceful, calming atmosphere that carries throughout the home. From the intimacy of its central courtyard to the openness of its forest-facing elevations, the residence moves naturally between moments of enclosure and openness. The result is a thoughtful expression of contemporary living, where strong architectural forms and the quiet beauty of the natural environment exist in harmony.
